Permit Application for Tree Injury or Destruction

The City of Woodstock has Bylaws in place to prevent unnecessary Injury or Destruction of Trees.

Property Information

Tree Information

Injuring means causing harm to a tree, including the roots. This involves trimming, drilling, or excavating.

Destroying means injuring to the point of killing the tree. This involves removing a tree.

Compensation Information

Tree Compensation is required at a rate of 3 trees to be planted or repaid for each tree being destroyed. 

Please review the current Fee and Charges Bylaw (Chapter 330) for current repayment fee. An invoice will be provided after the City's Forestry Staff review the trees being destroyed. 

Permit Application Fee

As per Schedule C-3 of the Fee and Charges Bylaw, payment of $85.00 is required at time of application for this permit. Payment will be processed on the next page.

I have read and understand Chapter 762 and 763 of the Municipal Code.

I certify that the information provided is correct and accurately indicate my intentions regarding the proposed work.

I acknowledge and understand section 813-25A: An officer may enter upon your lands at any reasonable time for the pupose of carrying out an inspection. 

Any communication from the Parks Department in regards to this permit will be reviewed and applied.

All work will be completed in compliance with the ISA's best practices. 

Submission of Application does not guarantee approval and issuing of Permit. If Permit is approved, work may not commence without all required documentation and/or compensation payment.
